Synopsis:

Zaffan (12) struggles with puberty, discovering a terrifying secret about her physical self. Her failed attempts to conceal the inevitable lead her friends to find out who she really is, and they attack her. As Zaffan is further provoked by her own community, she soon learns that embracing her true self is the only answer to her freedom.

Amanda Nell Eu

Amanda graduated from the London Film School. Her short film It's Easier to Raise Cattle premiered in competition at the Venice International Film Festival and received a Special Mention at the International Short Film Festival Clermont-Ferrand. Amanda is an alumni of the Berlinale Talent Campus and Locarno Filmmakers Academy. In her work, she explores the female body and identity within the cultural context of Southeast Asia. Tiger Stripes is her debut feature film.
