Born in China, Michelle Sun moved to Japan during her 3rd grade at school and a few years later immigrated to the United States. She is trilingual in Chinese, English, and Japanese, and her diverse background and rapidly moving lifestyle have shaped her to be an open-minded, adaptable, and humorous individual.

Michelle pursued acting and psychology BFA degrees at college, and started performing in Off-Broadway shows and commercials after her graduation. In 2013 she was voted the 1st Runner-up, most photogenic, most popular, and best talent of the Miss NY Chinese Beauty Pageant.

Michelle has participated in numerous award-winning projects and many of her films have been shortlisted at major festivals including Berlin, Sundance, Hong Kong, FIRST International Film Festival and PingYao International Film Festival.

In 2024 she was the MC of the Sundance Asia Gala and most recently starred in a leading role in a horror project, directed by the co-director of Kung Fu Panda 4 - Stephanie Ma Stine. As well as acting in film and TV, Michelle, who lives in Los Angeles, also works as a voice over actor for radio commercials, animation and games.
