Synopsis:
Refik, a retired civil engineer, gives his Syrian caregiver Nesrin some money so that she can flee to Europe with her two young sons. While Refik is preparing to come together with his own children for Eid al-Adha, Nesrin leaves her sons with him and disappears. Meanwhile his son İhsan, a bankrupt dairy-products trader, is trying to persuade his father Refik and his sister to provide financial support in order to set up a livestock farm on the ancestral village land. Nalan, Refik’s daughter, who is planning to leave her academic career in Istanbul and settle in Germany, returns to her father’s house for the holiday after a long absence.

Tunç Davut
Tunç Davut studied Cinema and Television at Anadolu University and Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, beginning his career with the short film The Fork, adapted from Bilge Karasu. He has since built an extensive career spanning features, documentaries, TV series, and commercials, including the historical series Hennaed Lambs and the docudrama Fear Not.
His debut feature, Entanglement, premiered at the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival, winning multiple awards, while his second feature, Like a Limbless Tree, was developed through major European co-production platforms like the Berlinale. Alongside directing, Davut is the President of SİNEBİR, advocating for filmmakers' rights, and has taught production, screenwriting, and directing in academia for over five years.
